Director Alex Nichol gives actor Colin Cuthbert some direction when it comes to drowning.  This was all for a 24 hour film challenge that I was privileged enough to be a part of.

More than a little serendipitous, I had set a longer exposure to let the ship in the background of this shot light up in the picture and as it was taken some sailors heading back to their ship for the night wandered past, oblivious to me and my camera.

The long exposure gave them a great ghostly look and I ended up with a shot with a lot more character than I would have if they hadn’t been passing.

Right place at the right time!

A street lantern in Gamla Stan which is the old part of Stockholm. I had a great time in Stockholm photography-wise, it was one of those places where everything seemed to be photogenic. I shot this as I passed the end of the alley on my way back to the hotel and it turned out to be one of my favourites.

St Mary's Lighthouse

Another local shot, this time it’s St Mary’s Lighthouse and the causeway that leads over to it.  A bit of Photoshop on this one playing with the colours to give the effect that you see here.  Not much to it but I think overall it’s quite effective.

East Side Gallery, Berlin

This is the East Side Gallery in Berlin.  In the distance you can see the famous Berlin TV Tower and the foreground shows the wall, decorated by artists (as well as many of the people who have visited the gallery since it was painted!)

I am lucky enough to have a Lomo Fisheye camera whichI don’t use nearly as much as I should, mainly because of the cost of film and getting it developed.  When I do use it though I’m always pleased with what comes out.  The camera has the option of using a bulb exposure which is timed only by how long you keep your finger on the release button.

This shot was taken in Berlin around New Year when I was visiting the city with some friends.  Although there’s nothing discernible in it I really like it, I hope you enjoy it too.

Trying out android app fxcamera in the hopes of getting some decent pics out of my phone.

The Angel of the North, Antony Gormley’s iconic sculpture.  Lots of people hated it at first but now it’s quite firmly embedded in perceptions of the North East.  It’s just along the road from where I live and it always reminds me that I’m almost home as I pass it returning from a trip.

This is the view of the Tyne River as you stand on the Millenium Bridge.  You can see the beam of light used to illuminate the bridge at night rising up.

In the distance are the Tyne Bridge, the Swing Bridge and the High Level bridge from the last post.
